University of Wisconsin College of Engineering Connections Presents Technology For a Global Economy Presentation By OnShore Technology Group

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.  Chicago, Illinois 4/26/2007 - OnShore Technology Group, fast-growing Chicago-based engineering and technology services provider, today announced its presentation "Technology For a Global Economy: What Engineers Need To Know" seminar.  This seminar was delivered to the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering as part of their "Connections" educational series.

The presentation delivered a 21st century view of engineering and what the future holds for young engineers.  Based on current experiences in the marketplace as an engineer, technical marketer, and entrepreneur, Ms. King-Bailey highlighted the changing global landscape and summarized key opportunities for young engineers.  "It is an exciting time to be an engineer", said Valarie.  "Engineers today live and work in a world with no boundaries.  They are free to practice their profession and reach out around the world.  I tried to convey to the students that as a young engineer, I dreamed of a world where information flowed freely and learning was a life long event.  They now live in that world and the sky is the limit", continued Valarie.

Ms. King-Bailey has been a pioneer throughout her 26 year career in engineering and business. In 1982, she became the first Afro-American female graduate from the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Valarie quickly rose through the ranks gaining international executive experience and industry recognition with leading organizations such as Abbott Laboratories, Intergraph Corporation, EMC/Documentum and U.S. Steel which led her to the pinnacle of her career as CEO of OnShore Technology Group. OnShore Engineering has the distinction as one of a handful of Afro-American, female-owned engineering companies in the U.S. Valarie holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an M.B.A. in Information Systems from Keller Graduate School of Management.
