FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.  Chicago, Illinois April 2, 2006 - OnShore Technology Group, fast-growing Chicago-based engineering and technology services provider, today announced that Valarie King-Bailey, its founder & CEO, has been nominated for the Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. Each year, Ernst & Young recognizes an elite group of entrepreneurs who, through their leadership, vision, and passion, have proven they have what it takes to preserve and succeed in our increasingly competitive and ever-changing business environment. Awards are given in multiple categories and by region. The winners will be awarded at the Entrepreneur of the Year Gala on June 22, 2006 at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom in Chicago. All winners become lifetime members of The Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame, which is part of the Entrepreneur Of The Year Academy.

In its milestone 20th year, the award will highlight the accomplishments of entrepreneurs in 125 cities and 40 countries worldwide. “It’s an honor to be nominated by such a prestigious organization, in a region rich in entrepreneurial spirit,” said Mrs. King-Bailey. "I believe our unique business model and innovative rapid growth strategy are the keys to our success now and in the years to come."

Ms. King-Bailey has been a pioneer throughout her 26 year career in engineering and business. In 1982, she became the first Afro-American female graduate from the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Valarie quickly rose through the ranks gaining international executive experience and industry recognition with leading organizations such as Abbott Laboratories, Intergraph Corporation, EMC/Documentum and U.S. Steel which led her to the pinnacle of her career as CEO of OnShore Technology Group. OnShore Engineering has the distinction as one of a handful of Afro-American, female-owned engineering companies in the U.S. Valarie holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an M.B.A. in Information Systems from Keller Graduate School of Management.
